I agree with issakar, build a wood flatbed.

I'll get someone to photoshop it... See how it would look. I'm just throwin' out ideas...

Ya that would look ugly. Getting a real short bed would be better. Or the wooden bed idea.

Or get a short bed frame and swap frames. Or chop off a long bed frame and measure and put it exactly the same spot. Then you can use the long beds drive-shaft, fuel lines ect. IMHO if you want to do go for it. Just plan it all out, make sure you have the time and space and ALL the nessary parts first.

It wouldn't be too much work. The way I would do it is get a 2wd long bed and measure and chop the frame. Then chop mine right at the same place so I could get the long bed fuel lines ect. The drive shaft would be custom. And with the 2wd spring shackles would give a lift.

Just get a short bed from a junkyard truck. Then you just got to measure and cut the frame in the right place to keep the mounts in the correct places. Then weld it back together and weld in some side plates on top of the cut section to reinforce it.
Don't forget to get a shorter drive-shaft and cut the brake line, fuel line, E-Brake cable wires ect.

I always wanted a long bed on my Club Cab.
Are you nuts? We gotta make 3 point turns just to get in a mall parking spot as it is.

LOL! Ya our turning radius sucks. Well my truck is not a mall cruiser. But the point is. The bed is what makes a truck a truck and I use my truck as a truck not a car. So another 2 ft to haul would be worth it. As of right now my truck is loaded with tree branches. Tomorrow will be something else, next week will be cement.

I would love to be able to put a long bed on my truck. A short bed just seems such a waste. My '88 F150 was a ext. cab long bed, what a friggin land yacht but, I could put any standard 4x8 plywood, drywall, etc. in it and still close the gate and the camper top. I miss that utility. If I could weld, I would definitely try to put a long bed on mine.

i like the long beds for hauling but for me a club cab with long bed would be to much for trying to get around downtown on the cramped 2 lane streets full of parked cars for work...
