Of course it will. It is the exact same block. Holes and everything. The main concern is the balance. Your easiest solution is to get a full long block, the appropriate weighted flexplate/flywheel, correct ECM, the correct injectors if it didn't come with it, and go to it. The 5.2l to 5.9l is extremely easy, but your 5.2l is technically a better engine to mod, in lieu of replacing, costwise. Plus, you can brag about beating the 5.9l after investing the money in the 5.2l. Cam, intake, heads, exhaust. The recipe will never change.

Yes it is a pretty straightforward swap. I did the 5.2-5.9 swap in my 92. Just remember that the 5.9 is balanced on the flywheel so you will need to include that in your swap. Your 5.2 ECM will run the 5.9 but it is best to try and find a 5.9 ECM. I happen to use a performance 5.9 ECM for a 94-95 ram in mine.

I don't agree that the two engines are the same block. Mind you, I am going by what I know from the first generation 318 and 360 engines. The 360 engine has a longer stroke than the 318 engine. They are both of the same engine family, and one will bolt in place of the other, but the internal parts (crankshaft, pistons, rods, harmonic balancer) will not interchange from one engine to the other. I would recommend changing computers to the engine you are swapping to. However, I suspect you could get away without it.

The same for the LA pre Magnums. 318 and 360 are EXTERNALLY the same and the 3.9 V6 (I don't know the CI if it.) too just sort in front. All 3 are Swappable, the mounting locations are EXACTLY the same.
The Magnums and LA's both have the EXACT mounting locations as each other. Some LA's don't have the bosses drilled and tapped. All 6 are swappable, a few may need a little work. All 6 bell housings are the same as well.

If you sat a 5.2l and a 5.9l block side by side, you could not differentiate between them. I understand the mains bore diameter, and piston bore difference, yada yada, but the two blocks are physically the same size (exterior holes and everything). Same as with the 318 and 360 blocks. I do know that the casting numbers are different, but with the exception of the aformentioned differences, they are statistically identical. Chevy did it with the 305 and 350, Ford with the 260-289-302 (a very common "stock" upgrade in a classic).
Historically, if you were to throw them into water, they would sink, because they are irregularly shaped, not because they are made of pig iron. (personal humor about physics).
