Default Transmission issue

ok i got another prob on my 95 dakota. it is a v8. i feel like my transmission is slipping when i give full throttle and when the engine is cold i will put it into drive and it wont engage untill i give some gas. same thing with the reverse, i have to pump the gas a little bit to get it to engage.... and it holds the gear a little while before shifting... i does these symptoms randomally. the truck has 125k miles and the tranny was rebuilt before supposedly. any recommendations what i should start out trying, thanks

You have an a518 (or 46rh) transmission, and the filter is called a transmission oil filter. Keep in mind when your fluids are cold that the oil is more viscous, and does not flow as well as when at operating temp (around 190 F), so it takes longer to build pressure. I would recommend a transmission service that includes adjusting the 1st/R band, or do it yourself. It is also in the diagnostics manual.
