Arrow Fuel Usage Question

I have read many threads about fuel economy but I have a question.

I drive to work at 24km (15 Miles) and back. Round trip of 48Km or 30 Miles. The fuel is costing me $10 a day. Is this higher than normal?

How many gallons per day on those 30 miles? Since prices can vary.

I'd say from personal experience that you're getting damn good mileage. If I were to drive that in a day, I'd likely use more along the lines of $20 a day. keeping in mind, these are trucks, not cars, and to top it all off, Dodge none the less. Dodge wasn't known for being fuel efficient!

1 us gal =3.78??? L , Im figuring 2.1/4 gal assuming traffic driving it works. I get 10-13, driving the 94 5.2 in town using 87 Octane with the 10% eth in it, but i do all the tricks. I think you are in the range. Engine rpm and traffic idle are the key to mileage. I watch it closely because last truck got 9m/g.

I run low grade 87 octane and spend almost the entire trip on the highway. Traffic is usually congested so I travel around 80km. Sometimes its stop and start.

Thanks for the help. Was worried that I would have to do some tuning.

YA your in the range, both of ours are 4x4. Since fuel costs were such a big item in my former business I watch mine and understand your concern. My interstate trip is 38 miles one way with a gas station at each ramp so it has been easy for me to figure. I schedule most of my appointments so Im in light traffic. I drive 1800 to 2000 RPM, good weather, 19.7 even 20.4 Bad weather drop the speed to 45 and it drops to 13 to 15. I do use Lucas Fuel injection cleaner, Have door post size tires. thats about it. LOL her old 89 3.9 sips gas consistently gets + or- around 20 unless in 4x4. I actually thing that little brat could do in the 20 to 23 range interstate, it seems to sip gas.

the 6 cyl likes to just drink the gas up. thats what i have. and like i said above, 200KM to 250KM to a tank if im lucky. thats 89 octane too. if i run 87, i lose all mileage and go down to about 150KM to 200KM a tank. its the main reason why im doing the 8 cyl swap lol
