Front axle grenaded! Pics!
Damn you do got a lot to do. How long do yo think? 3, 6 or 12 months, since your so busy now days. I hate school for how much time it takes up.
One thing I didn't mention is the Jeep GW axle width is exactly the same as the Dakota, so it will be a perfect match. It wont stick out 2in like a full size axle (keep the stock look). The brakes are massive too.
Well having the leaf spring do 2 jobs doesn't make it weak. It does put slightly more stress but having the leaf spring pack that is 2in thick or more makes it strong and with a good pack there will be no wrap. I'm not saying coil spring setup is weak, just saying leaf springs can handle weight/stress. Yes coil spring setup can give more flex/articulation but this is not a rock crawler, its a trail truck. Leaf spring has enough flex/articulation for me, I will put it to the test ever week or so. I don't baby it, its a 4x4 truck and that is what I use it for.
