What do you mean up or down? First cly is usually driver side front cly.

There are marks on the cam and crank to line up. TDC is cylinder 1 up and locate your distributor rotor to #1 or clock as you wish.

most magnum engines have the firing order on the top of the intake manifold if you are ever unsure.

but not only does it not agree with the service manual... Its completely wrong, and confusing cuz its just a line of numbers with no indicater of where the numbers are talking about.. jus sayin.. plus MOST mopar engines are Excally the same for 6,8, and even 10 clyinders...

Yes correct, it is cast into the intake.

You may be mistaken. You have a 87 if I remember correctly, the Magnums are 92-02 all Stock intake has it cast into it.

It is not wrong the order is correct, it is the bottom set of numbers. Below the words FIRING ORDER. And off to the left side of the pic you can see the intake also indicates which cylinder is which. 4 and 2 are seen.

This is on my 5.9 Magnum. The 5.2 is the same. The V6 is in the same place.

The intake also shows the Distributer Rotation and Intake bolt Max torque.
