Truck stalls upon bumps
Well past couple days have been hell for me, it's been a while since I've been on but I'm back and I got a good one for ya. Well my 96 with a 2.5l 5 speed, keeps stalling when I go over bumps, no CEL light or anything to help me with it I'm getting really puzzled. I've changed the relays, checked the fuses, I've checked all the wires, jiggled them some and cannot get it to stall under the hood or at least I hope, didn't try around the ECU yet. I'm really puzzled as to why it would do this. And trust me it get REALLY annoying REALLY quick

Well heres a update, it hit it's final bump today. Truck stalled and never restarted, oh joy. Tomorrow it's suppose to pour rain so can't look at it tomorrow, saturday got other jobs hopefully I can postpone them, for a few. Took the tow company 5 freaking hours to get to me. This time I noticed that when I was cranking the check engine light and the gen light would flicker just as it was about to fire up, it putt putt putt but no actual starting. When I turn the key no CEL light, at ALL! So tells me no power going to it. When it rains it pours and ME ****ED! $300 for the tow, oh joy. Where to start first, ECU or the nasty splice.

Well to keep this up to date, I hooked up a scanner to the OBD port and it came back with link error, I tried to do the splice fix with no luck still no power, so I guess it's time for a new ECM. And that's going to be 3-4 days minimum til I can get a new one. No junk yards around me has one and they all want just as much for a USED one as a NEW one.

Which splice did you "fix"? What was the condition of it? If the splice is bad you'll know by looking at it. From my reading, there are 2 other splices that go bad on these trucks.
1. Behind the fuse/relay box by the battery.
2. On the firewall...(I believe on the pass side....could be wrong)
3. ????
Be sure to find and check all three! Have you been to the faq on this forum?
Wish you well and good luck!

Well, I figured before I ordered a ECU, I would go threw some wiring and do some testing, Well I wasn't getting fuel for some reason, (then I jumped the relay and BANG I had fuel) the spark was intermittent. I started checking some of the wiring, 3 or 4 wires were shorting out on the block, moved them away and taped them up temporary, now I have fuel, but no spark. The relays are working, but for some reason no spark. Is there a fuse just for spark somewhere like a relay or something I could have missed that I could have blown or should I just call a tow truck to pay me and haul it away?
