Body lifts are cheep under $100 usually like $80-90. If your talking about literally get hockey pucks to use as a cheep alternative than it is not worth it. Your going to need LOTS of hockey pucks and drill and get bolts ect. Just buy the kit. www.summitracing.com all spacers and bolts are included and instructions.

Living up here in Canada the parts come more expensive to us, by the time we bring the parts across the border sometimes ends up costing almost double.
Another question . . .what happens to gas tank filler tube, do we have to extend that?

The gas filler neck has enough play to pull out. Call up www.summitracing.com they probably ship to Canada all the time.

If you can find a place that sells the puck cheap then why not. It would be nice to have someone on this forum to try it out. Summit Racing is just a couple hours away from my house in Summit County Ohio by Akron which is northeast Ohio. they probably could ship to canda for less than you think

They DO ship to Canada, and it's not that expensive. I have buddys that buy parts from them all the time. As I will be throughout the winter

Whats the height of two pucks stacked? My guess is in Kanookville, you have access to all the pucks you want! haha

The difference between doing a "puck lift" and using a true bidy lift kit is that the kit will have everything you need in one box. No running back and forth to the hardware store buying different bolts and such. AND... many of the lift kits come with steering linkage extensions depending on how high you are going.

Yea bought a bunch of pucks today and they cost 99 cents each. Two of them stacked is exactly 2 inches. Punched 5/8" holes through the center, made up a bunch of 2" bushings and bought longer bolts at the TSC Store, likely gonna get some larger washers to put top and bottom of the pucks. But the shop's all full and we have to do this job outside and the weatherman says its gonna rain for the next 4 or 5 days. Got the bolts all out of the box but haven't done the cab yet . . . they don't look too friendly, lol.
A friend gave us a pair of his old stacks off his Peterbilt, thinking of maybe mounting them up through the box ? ?

Cool! I do want to see this done. Post up pics.

So the cab has maybe 6 mounts and the rear 8 short bed. So 28 pucks $28. How much were bolts maybe $15 Maybe $50 all together?

Don't forget to cut and weld in spacer for the shifter linkage. And the fan shroud will need brackets to relocate it down. Some need the lower hose cut to fit. Make sure no wires or brake lines or fuel hoses binds.

Which shifter linkage? The automatic transmission linkage? At 2" lift, do you need to mess with the steering at all? And the 4x4 linkage? (for 4x4's, I realize his is a 2x4)
