Default 2wd to 4wd hanger swap

i read the article about swaping a 4wd hanger into a 2wd and it will lower it. I want to do this but i want to know what i requires and does anyone have before and after pics of this my truck is a 1989 2wd 3.9l auto

thanks for the article but i dont want to flip it i want to take 4wd hangers and put them on my 2wd so that it lowers it and i wanted to know if it effects anything major on the truck and what it will look like

yeah but you dont have to drill in to the frame and do you need to shorten the drive shaft or any thing like that

Yes you do have to cut the rivets out and drill out the frame.

I think your thinking of the shackle not the hanger. And the 2wd and 4wd leaf spring shackles are the same size so there is no difference in swapping them. I think you miss-read/understood what you read.

I'm assuming this is the thread you read in the beginning that you are referring to.

In this swap you swap the hanger brackets, not the shackles. The simplest version is just to remove your stock hanger brackets and flip them.

yeah thats the article i read i think i will end up just flipping them. do you know how much drop i will end up with.
