so long story short i have a 96 dakota and the guy i bought it from i can no longer get in touch with. He swapped a 318 into the truck and kept the same 3.9 tranny. As expected it blew (i didnt know he didnt swap trannys) anyways so i guess now im stuck getting a used tranny my problem is i dont know what truck this motor came from if its an old dakota with the 318 or the 1500 anybody have any ideas what i can do here?
sorry i didnt get time to search yet, at work so typing very fast and researching while boss is away please help thanks

wish i could help but i dont know the first thing about these trannys or what engines they swap with. maybe figure out what vehicle/year you engine is from, that may give you some direction to start looking. if you can determine more info about the engine, you should be able to find what year trannys will work. some internet research and a few phone calls should get it sorted out hopefully.
