Dakota randomly dies out

Alright, Does the computer have to be programmed or what?

No programming necessary if you are replacing it with a factory on. I got my from the junkyard or you can go to yor local parts store and get a remanufactured unit.

I'm still considering my options in fixing this truck. Could the Throttle Position Sensor be a option? What exactly does this sensor do?

The tps tells the computer how much fuel is needed from the injectors. If the tps was bad it would run poorly but not cause you to have no fuel pressure. I am guessing that you have the same problem I had and that was a bad computer. See if a local junkyard has a used one for sale.

I finally replaced the Computer today! Hopefully truck doesn't die out anymore. Thanks for the help guys!
