I started loosening up all the bed bolts today when I realized there is no play to shift the bed and the secondary holes are all lined up so the bed couldn't of shifted...then I started looking at the cab mounts. The cab shifted on impact! Not sure how this even happened without breaking chit like the steering column and other things that run in and out of the cab walls:

Here are the rear cab mounts (passengers sides first, then drivers). Look at the gap between the mount and the rusted out cab wedge supports, off by the same amount I thought the bed was shifted by. Are these mounts slotted unlike the bed mounts?

Dang with that much rust the frame is weak enough to bend out of shape. That is what I bet happened.

Aww I really want to restore this truck! Not sure if it bent though since the mounts are slid over. I've been fighting with my hood and cowl seams for a while now too, shift one and it throws the other off it's practically un-fixable with shimming. I bet the cab being shifted is what's causing my seam line headaches! This is just surface rust my fame is solid, it looks bad because those cab support wedges are paper thin to begin with.

With nothing lining back up together i to would almost bet money that the frame got warped. It dont have to be warped enough to see with your eye to throw things out of liniment on the hood and cowl.

When I had my cab bolts out, there was definitely play in how could be mounted.

Probably only 1/4" either way though. Maybe if it's jammed the whole way over you could get 1/2", but probably not quite that much.

Ugh...I need a new truck I know of a 94' Dakota 4x4 5-speed MT 5.2L with 71,000K for $500 but it's not a regular cab like mine. I'd like to just put my clip on it

:0 I'd pick up that truck in a heart beat! Think about all the extra space you'll have in the EXT. Cab. I'm going to throw in a nasty sound system with my extra space.

I don't want an ext cab, I don't need space for a system either I have over $3,000 into my system in my reg cab, you don't need more room you need higher quality equipment. I looked at it, thing is a complete piece of junk the guy was desperate trying to push me into buying it, wanted $200 just for the engine wiring on the hood side of the firewall! Pah all rusted out, cracked frame, no wheels, no shocks, I toldem to kiss my ***.

i hate to say it but im gunna bet your front rail is tweeked only right way too fix it is a frame machine at a body shop or you can fake it buy losening the bolts on the fender and re adjusting it to make it fit the hoodhow are the gaps by the fenders and doors if there still good then i doubt its the cab shifting if it was just the cab then those gaps would also be messed up
