No it is not that easy.

The only other easier way is to sell the truck and buy a 4wd.

So here are you options for a 4wd convsion.

1. Sell your 2wd, buy a 4wd. EASY!

2. Do a body/frame swap just like I did. Easy to do, lots of time/space/parts needed. Mostly bolt on, no welding necessary. Click HERE

3. Do a SAS Solid/Straight Axle Swap, 100% custom tons of cutting and welding necessary. Hard to do, tons of time, and way more $$ than you think. I did this too, Click HERE
Take your pick!

$800 is not to bad at all if it is complete. But to ask if it is worth it, depends on you. Do you have the time and the space to do the complete swap? Do you have the money for all the small extras that pop up during the swap?

Make sure it is the same body style as you, club cab or single cab short or long bed ect. You will need the transmission and transfercase as well as all the suspension and brackets for the engine/transmission to axle.

92-96 frames are the same. The earlier years are slightly different but will work. 97-up will not work without customizing, with lots of cutting and welding.
