looking for new headers
here soon im going to redoing the exhaust and everything and was wanting to get some headers and never buying them before not really sure to look for i found some gibson GP300 chrome headers for around 350$ but i need gaskets and stuff also then i seen these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BI...1FLT/?rtype=10 not sure about flowtech or not they are ceramic coated also for same price as just the gibson headers without the gaskets
which one would be the best you think heard alot more about gibson then flowtech unless there is another brand around the same price range i havent found

Gibson or jba headers are going to be the best. But im pretty sure the gibson headers I looked at on summit had bolts and gaskets come with them. Im wanting to say the gp300 are egr headers and the gp301 are non egr(96-up). Either way gibson and jba dyno tune there primaries so its as close to a tuned header you can get for our trucks.
The problem I see is that they list those headers for 1992 through 1995 and the mounting flange for the Y-pipe is different between 1993 and 1994.
'92-'93 on the left '94+ on the right.

Since most places list their headers like this, it's the reason I'm hesitant to buy any because I don't want to get them, realize they won't work, and have to send the back.

The '92-'93 have a larger flange because the outlet opening is 1/4" bigger. So it would be a shame to spend the money on a performance part and have it not flow as god as it could.

If you have the larger 92-93 manifolds I personally wouldn't buy headers because I very seriously doubt you would gain any extra power. If you look at the specs between the 92-93 5.2 and the 94-96 5.2 the 92-93 made a extra 10 hp because of the larger manifolds. Plus the 92-93 also had the larger y-pipe. If you are set on getting headers the definitely go with Gibson and also if your going to spend the money atleast get the stainless headers because the chrome will rust. Im personally going to buy the gp301 without egr because later im going to install the M1 without egr and im going to spend the extra money and get the ceramic coated. They cut down on the temp under hood plus will look like the day you bought them 5 years from now. Plus lower temp under hood means more power.

You've got the better stock exhaust manifolds so unless someone has back to back dyno results, all you have to base your decision on is opinion, speculation, and butt dyno results (which is opinion).
I'd like to get another set of '92-'93 manifolds and get them ceramic coated and build a better y-pipe because there are some inconsistencies in the y-pipe I don't like. So once my other projects get finished, I might get to that.
