OK thanks, I'm searching now for these two items and will give it a try.

I removed the top bolt (see Picture) and the short shaft slides 1/4'' in each direction so I put the bolt back, at the bottom of the picture there is something that looks like a star or allen bolt, but i did not try to remove it. Let me know if this is what needs to be removed. Thanks
OK, I got it out by removing the fender shroud, I removed the tire and folded the flap down (took 5 minutes). Thanks everyone.

I have had the starter out of both my 93 V8 truck and my 94 V6 truck numerous times and never really had an issue doing so, I never had to pull the steering shaft or fenderwell to do so, done all from underneath. I definitely dont see (by my trucks anyway) how people have such diffuculty pulling a starter from one of these.
The only issue I see is if you arent familiar with them pulling the wrong bolt out from the top of the starter; jsut above the starter there's another bolt that takes the same wrench size that goes thru the block into the tranny... and by "feel," its sometimes easy to remove the wrong bolt by mistake.
When the one went bad in my 94 I tried putting an old style "whiney" Mopar starter like they used from the 60s til the mini starter came out in the late 80s and that certainly wasnt happening I'd have had to jack the motor and pull the driver side mount to put the big starter in I can imagine doing taht in a parking lot somewhere (screw that) so I had the original starter from that truck rebuilt and reinstalled it.
I was gonna use a "big" starter since I have a few collecting dust and I wouldn't have had to put out the cash for either a reman or a rebuild of the original....
