Lightbulb 87-96 Dakota Tailgate Net

Does anyone have a tailgate net on their 87-96 Dakota? Can you please post some pictures?

I know they do not improve gas mileage but they won't drastically reduce it will they?! I think it would make it a hell of a lot easier to backup if you have a roll pan...plus it brings more black into the back of my truck to match the front plus my bed liner. My 88 does not drain when it rains I have to put my tailgate down this would also solve that problem. Thoughts? Pictures?

as far as draining there is two hole at the front of the bed that allow the bed to drain. if those plug up then the water will pool and rustout the bed or rain as you drive down the road(my favorite way).

the holes are in the upper corners and possible the middle that is circled in this pic of your bed. You might have to take something thin and hard too clean them out.

There are 2 small oval holes as stated.

Mythbusters did a test with the tailgate net as the best in fuel economy.

as for the plastic bed liner....I have one in my truck and it dont have holes in it but than I have a hard cover on my bed so I dont have to worry about water getting in there. If anything just drill a couple of holes about a half inch in diameter in both corners of the front by the cab and try and get them close to the holes that are in the bed of the truck so it can drain straight down threw.

I disagree as with the tail gate up that is when you get the best mileage.

I'm just saying that is how their test went. The 2nd test of the tail gate myths showed the tailgate net did better then tailgate up.

Mesh saves 5% looks like I won't decrease my mileage after all!
