Default Click sound from engine - pls listen

here is the link: https://vimeo.com/65656167

I have a clicking sound coming from my engine that I cannot isolate.
This is the sound close to the engine but when I step back 20 feet, I can clearly hear it too.

is this knocking?
is this a bad valve?

it does increase in frequency upon acceleration.

The only thing i have changed on the engine since this happened was the air filter.

Should i reset the computer and see what happens?

Other options - exhaust leak or timing chain slap.

Louder from left side or right side? Front or back? How's your oil level? When was it last changed? What weight was used?

almost sounds like a bad lifter. Did you do the broom handle trick? Use a wooden broom handle, and CAREFuLLY touch it to the valve covers, one at a time. Listen to the end of the stick. It will transmit any noise. That reallly helps identify where it is coming from. i thought I had a bad engine, but found out my a/c compressor is louder than hell. MUCH cheaper fix than replacing an engine.

Once you have the noise isolated, you can make your plan of attack.
check both valve covers, then the a/c compressor (watch out for the fan),
then the exhaust manifolds, lower end, etc.

Let us know whats what.

Default Belt tensioner?

Look at the belt tensioner, see if the click correlates with the movement of the tensioner.
That thing doesn't sound too healthy, but it could be just poor audio quality. It does sound like you have an exhaust leak.

thats just lifter chatter. in my experience it happens with normal wear of the engine(or a stretching timing belt but the 6's and 8's have a chain). every vehicle i've ever owned has had that except my intrigue which has the normal gm tranni/power steering wine.

adding an oil additive will quiet it up a bit.

I agree with Shadow. Only thing i've heard that sounds like that is a lifter ticking. I've had good luck with Marvel Mystery Oil in my car with a bad lifter. a whole bottle in the oil and it should be nearly silent for the next 20k km.
