The kit is no longer made and most places don't have them in stock anymore. Junkyard or Craigslist.org is your best bet.

In a junk yard what would be a dead give away that it has one? I've been looking but can't tell for the life of me

thanks for the tip i know they are discontinued didnt know if there was a special place you can find used ones or somthing.

Im planning to do a 4bt swap with a nv4500 so i may just do the 2 in lift w/the the spacers and add a leaf and then do a 2 in body lift. since it will help with the tranny clearance etc

I have a 95 dakota I4 5 spd too

As far as what to look for, just look for the pieces in place. Here is a link to a Trailmast kit installed on a junkyard truck, sad to say it is long gone by now. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2639822-post12.html

For a 4bt you will want stronger parts than the stock setup. A Solid Axle Swap is your best bet.

If ur looking to do a 4bt 4x4 swap, do a 4x4 frame SAS w a gm14bolt FullFloater rear end.. 2wd n 4wd frames are to different even doing a SAS!! Not worth the work u gotta put into a 2wd frame to make it work

I'm curious, what's the big difference between the 2WD and 4WD frames? I mean, he'd be cutting all the brackets off down to the bare framerails to do the SAS, anyway. And he's going to have to move the crossmembers and change everything around to do the 4BT/NV4500 swap. So, I can't really see how having a 2WD frame is going to make much difference. The extra little bit of fab work that might be required can't be more difficult than a frame swap, can it?

I thought the same exact thing until I looked at the to frames.. I have a 2wd body on a 4x4 frame.. The main reason behind going w the 4x4 frame is the 4x4 has a gear steering box where the 2wd has a rack and pinion and the other thing was the cross member on the 2wd is right under the oil pan where the 4by cross member is directly under the radiator support much easier to work w n build off of if u want a recovery point n or build a leaf spring set up.. My opinion tho..
This is how I built mine..
