Do you remember the year of the intrepid? I think it may have been something like this for a 97. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4596212-CH31...RXdw7a&vxp=mtr

Have you considered the mark VIII fan? Much higher cfm than the intrepid fans and smaller footprint. Popular mod in the hotrod crowd

I looked at both fans, but decided on the Intrepid fans because dual fans cover more surface area and gave me more options for turning on one fan or two, hi speed or low. Also, while the Mark VIII fan does push more cfm, it has a very large current draw that has to be accounted for, especially when designing your wire harness. Certainly the Mark VIII fan can do the job and then some, but I'm finding the Intrepid fans fit the task well for my setup.

93rt, I think I used fans from a '99 Intrepid. Sorry my recall is fuzzy but I think I was looking for fans in the '98 to '00 year range.

Robert, I want to sandwich the fans in between the radiator and the condenser. I measured the opening once, although I dont have the measurements with me. But I think I had a distance of 3.75 in. between the radiator and the condenser. I believe the mark VIII fan is thicker then that.
FWIW I think the shelby's used 2 11in. fans.
BTW what are you planning to use for a fan?

I was leaning towards the Mark VIII but with my radiator fitment problem, I have to wait to see what space I end up with. I got the quote from the radiator shop...$750!! for a custom copper core radiator that'll give me 50% more cooling than I had for the 400HP motor. That includes radiator, transmission cooler, brackets, and fitment with a fan guaranteed in my space. Alot of money, but short of moving the engine or buying all new accessories for a serpentine set up, I don't see any other choice.

FYI, yeah the Mark VIII would be too thick...here's some info on various fan dimensions:

- Mark VIII dimensions are 18.5 x 22 x 6 and 18" blades, not including the tabs.

- Mark VIII w/ trimmed tabs and trimmed depth dimensions are 18.5 x 22 x 5.25 and 18" blades

- Taurus fan dimensions are 18.5 x 23 x 5 inches, and 17" blades

- Y2K Dual Ramcharger style fan dimensions are 26 1/2 in wide by 15 1/4 in tall and a slim 3 5/8 in deep

- The older Dual Ramcharger style fan dimensions are 15 x 25 x 3 inches deep in the center and 4.5" at the small fan motor center and 5.75" at the tall motor. 13" fan blades.

- I think the Intrepid fans are 2 5/8" deep

I've been lurking occasionally haha. I have to necro-bump my thread soon as I'm finally getting around to painting my truck...nothing like the quality job you're doing but I might as well document it. Keep up the good work.
