Resurection to add note- Do not over tighten door handle nut especially on cheap aftermarket parts.
Well my passenger door handle broke. I noticed a couple months after I replaced it that there was a crack on it. I had assumed some vandal did it. run forward to the last couple weeks when I go to put groceries in it was worse ans worse off. Today as I looked at it the metal brace against the back fell down inside the door, the threads had fully broken off. Today I dug up the original one I removed (the new ones weren't worth it they were as faded as my OE handles inside a year) the broken one and installed it. I realized as I did it that I had tightened the plastic nut very tight with pump pliers. Today I did it by hand and a little with the screwdriver. I suspect it broke due to being so tight and the aftermarket $7 handle being made of cheap plastic.
