Stereo Part II -- Front Speakers
#21
Going from the front of a vehicle - the front pillar, at the windshield, is the "A" pillar. As they go back, they're called "B", "C", and "D". My Cougar has A,B, and C pillars; the standard cab has A and B.
Your truck probably has A,B, and C pillars; you'd want to pack behind the speaker while it's out.
This isn't really "car guy" on using Dynamat; this is audio guy, to dampen the reaction of the metal to the sound. (Also helps to quiet the truck out).
And yes, cutting apart makes it a bit less effective. So it's less effective than one piece. It still beats NO pieces ...
You'd be placing it against the inside of the outside of the door; biggest possible problem in the door is, don't plug the drains in the bottom of the door.

Ralph,
Have you saw the size of the open and the spaceI have to work with? I think the spray would be the best bet, with my luck on things I would get my hand stuck, or better yet somehow Dyamat myself to the truck. You are talking to someone that at 12 superglued themself to a house trying to fix the shelf they broke while their parents were away and I will not mention the time I superglued my self to my car, 3 times in one day.

Ralph,
Even at 12 I knew about Acetone and it getting you free from superglue. However when you have the good furtune to glue yourself to something that, the house or a car, that you can not get to the acetone you are out of luck. At 12 it was both hands as I was holding the shelf in place, figured 5 minutes to really give the glue time to set. I am glad that the neighbor popped in to check how I was doing with my parents gone, I never knew if she told them or not.
Now any time I work with super glue a big bottle of Acetone is right next to me.

Okay so between a migraine and a tooth ache I am getting no sleep. So I am wondering the internet, a dangerous thing for me to do, never know what I will start reading and links I will start reading. At least this time it seems safe. Found this in the Metra Catalog about the Dakota, circled it blue.
Now since my door panels are off I am more than happy to confirm the 1993 measurements. Just one question. Where am I measuring?

Afternoon Ralph,
Just getting the message, about 6AM this morning, my security suite goes haywire, so I have been scanning things all day, from the ground up, the computer just now booted up from that. Clean as a whistle thank heavens. I think I am being sent the the grocery store, so I will measure then. Be interesting to see what it comes out as and I will try to get a rough idea of the rear ones. Do screws normally come with speakers?
