Default This doesnt look right

1993 3.9. 4×4
As im changing oil pump i notice what seems to be a hole in the bottom of where the oil pump mounts to. The part that holds the lower half of the rear main seal. Its dead center but up against the groove that the oil pan gasket would rest in as it wraps around the crank shaft. To me it just doesnt look like it belongs there. Like something has forced it way out.
Can any one identity what im talking about?

Looking at https://www.powertrainproducts.net/v...os/1238-7T.jpg (you may have to download and enlarge it!), it does look like there's an opening in the rear main bearing cap.

Is that the hole you're talking about?

If not, please include a picture of some kind.
