It would have been nice if Dodge would have used a standard off the shelf fog light instead of a special built lamp assembly. There's another thread on here from a while back (maybe a year or so) that talks about these. What I found in my digging around is that the lamp pieces (glass lens / reflector) were made by Bosch but not with the Bosch name on them...with a different name. Those are hard to find now but the comparable Bosch Pilot lamp can be installed in the Dodge fog housing IF you remove something, either on the lens or on the housing somewhere, the other post I mentioned has that info.
At one time I found some parts on Ebay from someone selling NOS lamp stuff. I never pursued it but I did manage to remember to keep the pictures.
IIRC I took a Bosch Pilot insert from another fog lamp that I have and test fitted in the ratty fog lamp housings I have from a Dakota and it fit, and since those seem to be plentiful I would think that's the cheapest way of getting new lights!

Steve
Thanks for the information. Nice to know there's many ways to skin a cat. My original lenses had "BOSCH HALOGEN" written on the front in the glass. I found that there are actually there different part numbers that work for this vehicle. In fact they are all the same.
1) 55055140 (Chrysler PN - like you identified above)
2) TYC 19-5339-00
3) CH2592017
I ended up buying one off Amazon.ca and the other I got from Marshall's Auto Wreckers in Lethbridge, Alberta. The one from Marshall's is already installed and working well, the one from Amazon seems to be stuck at a distribution centre. I highly recommend Marshall's if you live in Canada. Friendly people and they still have a few old Dakotas in the boneyard.

The hanger on my valance is rusted bad. I couldn't get them off when I painted it. They work when they feel like it. I still don't know if the switch that looks to be after market under the lights is what is supposed to turn it on Valance looked like it was cut by an installer not made for the application as I had assumed. Where would one get yellow fog lights since white light just hits the water vapor and glares back at you blindingly just like your headlights?

You can try and find the yellow inserts that Bosch made for the Pilot and then modify the lens as per the other thread that was posted up two posts ago, or you can get some yellow protective film called Lamin-x that applies to the lamps and comes in translucent yellow. I personally light the yellow lights, my headlights on the wagon are european H4 and have the bulb encased in a glass balloon.
I feel like this option was not ordered very much, I don't see too many of the Dakotas out there with the fog light option, or as it may have been called 'sport' or some such. I have a (damaged) valance for fog lights and the mountings / holders for the OE fogs but haven't done anything yet about fitting them. I have a whole slew of Bosch stuff from other cars that I've owned that used them, or I saw them in the JY and they were cheap, at some point I will get the setup done and hopefully it'll looks pretty much like the factory original.
