air cleaner question on V6

I guess you could make it work, but unless your original is missing and you have a '97 or later, why bother? I just use the factory type. The oiled ones don't work any better unless you're towing and running WOT. I've also seen the oil mess MAF sensors up.

Part needed
I ordered a cold air intake that was supposed to work but it is apparently made for a different model as it has a round hose that apparently attaches to the housing that fits on the carb. The company would sell me the part for an additional $30.00 and they will not take their parts back without me paying shipping. So I will look in a junkyard for a part I can make work.

Where are you located? If you're up north, I'd save the stock parts for winter use. Fuel injection isn't as bad as carburetors were about cold air icing, but they can ice up.

Just a note -
Follow that hose down to the core support.
SURPRISE!!!
What you have IS a cold air intake; most CAIs are hot air intakes not COLD.
I'd leave it alone, just keep a good clean filter on it.
(WHY are you wanting to change? Have you actually looked at the science behind the intake you have?)
