Default Intake manifold bolts

Hey guys thanks for reading 96 Dakota 3.9 l has anybody replaced the intake manifold gaskets without replacing the manifold bolts. I know Dodge recommends replacing the bolts when removing the intake I spent so much on this truck past couple months about to run dry was wondering what my chances of using the old bolts and it being a success would be. Any input will help would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.

Rumor has it, they are 'torque to yield' bolts, thus, CANNOT be re-used. However, looking thru the service manual, they don't talk about that at all.... which is something that if true, I would expect the manual to flatly state that.

That said, they aren't that expensive, I view it as cheap insurance.... That, and a couple of mine broke on removal.

Replacing those gaskets is a sizeable job. The cost of the bolts is worth the expense even if you have to panhandle under an overpass for an afternoon. Pan for bolts. I’d have a heart.

I've never broke a manifold bolt and reused them multiple times on four different Magnum engines. Probably playing with fire though and I'd not defer to my judgement if I were you. I'm not sure why I'm commenting. Maybe just to broadcast my stupidity.

If I didn’t broadcast my stupidity I wouldn’t have much to say.
