Default 1992 Dakota 5.2 v8 shuts off when driving

I’m at a loss here, the truck shuts off when driving and just cranks until I mess with the ignition pickup coil a few times then it starts and I can drive it for a little bit then it’ll do it again. The distributor cap, rotor button, ignition coil, and computer have all been changed along with other electrical stuff but still continues to shut off when driving I dont lose any power, lights, or anything affected by the battery or alternator just shuts off. I’m no mechanic I just do what I can. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Someone who knows more will eventually reply but while you wait read the sticky FAQ section. You will learn a lot and one thing is how to get your engine codes just using the keys.

Sounds a lot like a failing crank sensor to me.

And it pays to use quality replacement crank sensors. OEM if possible. Not sure who makes Dodge crank sensors.. NTK possibly (or NGK whatever they call themselves these days)?? It's not the easiest job and it's a PITA to diagnose when it goes out so this is not the place to skimp. I've heard horror stories when people do skimp. I changed mine out 3+ years ago. I got the Borg Warner sensor from Advanced Auto. It's been perfectly fine to this point but if I were to do it over again I'd do some more research to find OEM or the company who made them for Dodge...similar to the NGK OEM oxygen sensors.
