Being depressed sucks. Sometimes you flat out don't have a choice, but eventually it just gets old and it's time to (as you say) move on...

Yeah, quite the speed bump though...... Shop 2.0 sounds like a plan.

On your shop, adding AC and Heat is a big plus. I did it in my garage, but I was a HVAC contractor...... I built mine over 30 years ago. Its 24x24 with 9ft ceilings. If I had it to do again, I would like bigger, especially longer, and would go tall enough to have a lift. Good luck with all your decisions you are going to be making.

Oh, and I think the new project deserves a new thread.

I am thinking about checking out a '97 that is near me. My question for all of you Dakota wizards is this - I had installed the 5 lug brake rotors (1990 model year) on the 1st gen Dakota chassis. Will those 5 lug rotors bolt up to the '97 2nd gen front brakes, or is the caliper/bracket/offset going to be an issue? I am not concerned with the rears as my plans still include using a Ford 8.8 LSD rear end.

EDIT - Never mind. That deal did not go through.

Once I get another Dakota, I will start up a new build thread. How the build proceeds will be dictated in part by how the insurance settlement plays out. As of this point, the process underway with this loss is completely out of my control. My only task is to come up with the most detailed inventory of belongings that were in the building. I cannot complete that task until the insurance releases the building back to me (when the cause investigation is finalized). The waiting, and staring at that pile of destruction in the backyard, is just difficult. Well, for me, anyway.

Wow. I have a line on another Dakota that is a one owner, really clean truck. It would almost be a shame to strip the body off of it. Clean inside and out. We will see.

Two pokers in the fire - a 1990, and a 1993. One is an auto, the other a manual. The really clean one went fast. I will get this project resurrected.

The 1993 is a Sport model with a 4 cylinder and manual. Does anyone know if the motor mounts are the same as the V8 version? I have never seen the 4 cyl model before.

I think the lower mounts are located different, but, the holes for the V8 mounts will be there.
