Very close to lifting the cab off the chassis now. The shift linkage is all that needs disconnecting, I believe. I am going to pull the engine and transmission after the cab comes off. It will be easier to get to everything that way. I have lined up a mobile blasting company to come to my place and soda blast the chassis back to bare metal. I will pressure wash all the dirt off before that happens. Now that we have a week with no snow in the forecast I need to get this done while the sun is shining.
It's got that half height lobe, so I guess it's the 22 then. Thanks for the info! Doing sketchy stuff in my shop now. Had a feeling I would find some hidden wires still connected.
After fighting the steering column for quite some time, I threw in the towel and cut it off with my cut off wheel. The cab is finally off (dragging it's entrails like gutted corpse!). Now to get it on my trailer!
Next week this load heads to the auto dismantling yard. I am going to try and squeeze the motor and trans between the cab and bed. The Studebaker is looking on approvingly!
I would rate them as average to poor. If anyone is interested in any parts of this, it is leaving within a week. I am in northern Nevada - Carson City.
Hoping to have the chassis pressure washed today, but the temp is not going to be much over freezing. Engine and trans will at least be on the floor, though.
