Maybe I'm a sucker but a genuine Mopar sticker carries a lot of weight with me.
Ma Mopar tends to get rather offended when folks just slap that sticker on a generic part...... *Usually*, that sticker is a good sign, but, there are always exceptions.
New Denso alternator showed up this morning. Slapped it in. Needle danced around on startup. Steadied up after the usual 300 feet then never budged after that. Maybe the varnish has to burn off. I'll keep an eye on it. All I know is I can scratch the alternator off my list. Battery was sitting at 12.69v this morning. I haven't run the truck for three days so I'm getting a very healthy charge. I guess as long as it's doing that I shouldn't complain...for now.
HY, continuing with what we were discussing about the PCM grounds...I dug up the 60-pin connector diagram for my 5.2L and it appears pin 11 & 12 are grounds. I have no intention of digging into this connector. I already did it once a few years ago when I replaced that connector and I don't want to go thru that nightmare again unless I have to. But I just wanted to soothe my curiosity with regard to how that PCM is grounded. I do not know where the other ends of those wires connect. I'm really bad at reading wiring diagrams.
Oh, and for now my voltage fluctuation is non existent. Gauge nice and steady and getting 12.7v at the battery after 24 hours of rest. As always, we'll see how long that lasts.
I have a russian site for Mitchell on Demand. Been using it for a few years now, no issues. Sometimes it's fun to find what you want, but, they have a good spread of years/makes/models. Rather useful.
Cool. I think I see how you found that. The PCM wiring diagram shows it goes to ground F. Somewhere along the way I saw where ground F was but now I lost it (phone is a pain to work that site). I’ll look on my left fender. If it’s visible I already cleaned it cuz I did that a year or two ago. Anything I could see I cleaned. Guess I don’t understand why they run a ground point all the way on the other side of the engine compartment but what do I know?
