Hi. I haven't been on the sight in awhile, so i dont remember If I made a post or not. So I was wondering if anybody else on here drag races there first gen Dakota. I have a 91 Dakota sport that I installed the cab and bed from a 1996 Dakota sport. I call my truck the Pro-junkYard Edtion. Lol it has a warned over 2000 360 magnum engine and 904 transmission. Best pass in the 1/4 and 1/8 mile Is 11:24 at 116 and 7.15 at 96. I am saving up to build my spare 2000 360 magnum into a 14.1 compression 408 stroker . Hoping to run 10.00 flat or high nines with that one. Would like to hear about anybody else builds

 

I only drag race when I see a cop turning around in my rear view mirror.

Are you talking about the type of racing or what you wear when you're racing?


I don't race anymore. I'm too old and brittle. I do still like to drive in a "spirited" manner. I've got a '97 that I plan to surprise people with.

 

I am talking about racing down the 1/4 mile. Wear I race at I am usely the only Dakota there against a bunch of S10 trucks

That 360 runs good.

One day I will make some passes with my 87. It has a 6.1 hemi, 46rh and 4.10 dana 60.

 

I dont have a dakota to drag race with, but sure am interested in yours!! Could you share more details about the motor? FWIW , IMO, 11.24 and 7.15 are quick for a dakota with a 5.9.... What cam, etc are you using?
