Default Side Mirror

1993 Dodge Dakota LE, 5.2L, A518 Auto Trans, RWD, 185,000 miles, original owner

I have motorized side mirrors (or whatever you call the thing that oscillates the mirror). The passenger side has a lame motor. It just stutters and doesn't move the mirror around as designed. I happened to have my original mirror assembly from the original door that got wrecked. I'm thinking I can replace just the motor so I don't have to dig in the door to replace the whole mirror assy. Curious about a couple few things...

1) How does the mirror come out of the assy? I'm assuming it is pressed in and, therefore, pulls off?? No tools??
2) Can I replace just the motor? Is the harness plugged into the motor or hardwired??
3) Anything I'm missing?

I think it's easier just to replace the whole thing. I have never had any success trying to fix 'em, I usually just break 'em worse.

I was afraid of that answer.

And because I don't feel like tearing into the door I will simply put up with the lame side mirror and just keep it in manual mode. I mean really, I adjust that mirror maybe twice a year when someone walks into it. I'll put my working original mirror back in bubble wrap.
