If it is rattling, then it is working as it should... for the most part. If you had the timing cover resealed, and it's leaking from between the cover, and oil pan, take it back to where the work was done, as all they did was move the leak.
Don't have a number for the PCV valve... I just went to the dealer and asked for one. And that's been a few years ago.
Yeah I ordered a $4 valve from advance going to throw that in and see if it changes anything as well as running the pcv its own vacuum line from the carb. I should add, its more of a squealing than a rattle. Sounds almost exactly like a belt squeal, but with the vacuum line unhooked it stops, so narrowed it down to the valve.
This is the leak now. While it’s small, it’s still there. I believe is coming from the pan and not the front main seal as from what I saw, behind the balancer is dry around said seal.

Front main leak tends to get splashed around a bit as well. Could throw some dye in the oil, hit it with a UV light, and you would be able to see EXACTLY what was going on.

That's true. I'm going to rerun that pcv hose, replace the valve, and get some brake clean and spray down the places oils on and drive around for a bit and see if I can narrow down where its coming from with some pictures. If that doesn't work I'll go see if I can find a dye kit somewhere.
So just got back from driving around a couple of miles. PCV valve was replaced and it’s no longer squealing, but oils still leaking. I think these pictures make it pretty clear it’s leaking between the timing cover and the pan. It was actively dripping while I was taking these pictures as well.
I don't think you need to touch the timing cover itself. Could put some RTV on both sides of the gasket there.... Sure wouldn't hurt.
Yeah I noticed my mechanic put rtv somewhere but I can’t really tell where. I think I may wait until he gets back to me before I poke at it, maybe he’ll do it for me lol
