Yes, they are powered. The 8' x 16' roll up is a side drive as well. They cost a little more, but it frees up the space around the ceiling so I can put a two post lift in.
The electrical was trenched from the house to the shop foundation originally, and amazingly it didn't get burned. So we are good to go for that. And today, this is what they get to work in. It's off and on, but now it's starting to accumulate.

I don't think we are all that far away from that particular event here as well.....
To see this crew pull this off in six days is impressive. The county inspection is scheduled for Monday, and they are finishing up tomorrow. It is going to be 18 degrees in the morning, and they usually show up at 6:30. Wow.
I did commercial framing for ONE winter..... Smacked the back of my hand with a 28 ounce framing hammer early one morning, when it was all of 5 degrees out..... Yep. I was done. It was a weeks before I could reliably use that hand again.
I still hear hammers, but this is pretty darn close to completing the framing. Definitely ready for the first county inspection on Monday. And since this thread has been mostly about rebuilding my shop so far, I had to throw in a pic with my Dakota in there! Yes, folks, I do own a 1st gen Dakota. In the one pic you can see how close we live to the Sierra Nevada mountains - seven miles as the crow flies to the foot of them. After the county signs off, the windows and roof will come next so the building will be weather proof with the exception of the doors. There are still some temporary brace blocks on the north side that need to be removed. We are so happy to see a structure, my wife baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies for the crew this morning. They were a big hit!! We just wanted some way to thank them for the great work they have done.
