Default Ideas for modifications on a 1995 Dakota?

My dad got a '95, 4 cylinder, rwd, sport dakota and wants to make it pretty with me and is hoping I can help with ideas, but I just know how to fix stuff not really what things are. Besides base cosmetic stuff, is there anything in particular that would be fun to add or to up the power on it? I know the FAQ has a spot for modifications but I have no idea what I'm looking at and am hoping to gain a further understanding on modifications. The only thing we wanted to do for sure was lower it, and upgrade some of the stuff interior wise. Thank you for any info, as any info will help versus my current knowledge!

There is no replacement for displacement. Bigger motor would add to the fun factor. 5.2 or 5.9 and a 46RH trans, shorten the driveshaft a bit, and the go-pedal becomes MUCH more responsive.

First off, WELCOME!
Pretty much agree with HeyYou. (which is what I did with my 87) Swap out to a 5.9 and go from there.
I really like the 1st gen dakota's but...... they seem to be the red headed step child of the aftermarket industry. In other words, not much is made for them.
