help with diagnosing
Found several remans from $102 up to over $200. They seem different by the numbers but they all say they fit a 94 3.9
Is there a formula? O'Relly's seems to be the most reasonable but they all say call the store to special order it.
Saw a couple on ebay for <$120 free shipping and lifetime warranty but they both had the plug on them and the bolt looked too rusted to come out.

O'Reilly's seems like the only one with a computer they say works on mine. They have several graduating in price from $102 to over $200 + core. They even have the Cardone one I have for $195. RA has it for $166. ugh. I can't tell of the cheaper ones will work on mine. They are MasterPro brand. "Have" means it is on their site, the unit still has to be ordered if I decide to buy.
I dropped a message to the shop Bronze used. They only operate M-F so I'll have to wait for a reply.

I don't remember if i gave RA my VIN. I wonder if not having the right VIN programmed would affect the MT 2500 if I put the actual vehicle VIN in it and the ECM had a different VIN. Now I'm just making up problems aint i?
The littler truck decided to die the same day. I put it on the charger overnight and nothing. So I took the battery out of the Dak and used it to go buy a new battery for the little ram.

So the sites claiming to reman or repair them are full of it when they say they need your vin and mileage to program it, After you pay for it, into the computer????
The cheap computer is for a manual trans. I have auto.

If you have O/D, the manual trans computer won't work.
You can't program OBDI computers, anyone that tells you different is full of...... yeah. That. Need specialized equipment, and the OBDI computers don't care about the VIN anyway. Pretty sure they don't even know what vehicle they are in.

Hey You hit the nail on the proverbial head with the statement about the OBD I computers not knowing (or caring) about where or what vehicle they came from (or what vehicle) they were going to be installed into as long as it was a OBD I. I know that from experience as I bought a Mopar Performance computer from a fellow who had it installed in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. He gave me the part number so I looked it up online and sure enough that same part number fit many different years of Jeeps & Dakotas. All were V8 automatics. Magnums.
