Found some ugly stuff under the carpet after removing the whole interior to power wash it.
Used a wire wheel to grind it all down
Interior after being power washed as it was disgusting
Cleaned up the floorboards
Sanded the bed, prepping it for the roll on bedliner
Painted the rust with POR15
Used the POR on bare metal in the bed. Will sand it again to prep for roll on bedliner.

I'e never had an issue with scuffing up the POR for paint or bedliner whether in my S10 or Sonoma pickups. I was able to scuff up the dakota pretty good by just using a sandpaper sponge. The POR is tough but rough sandpaper will scuff it up.
Here she is ready for the bed and fender flares to be Herculined!

Absolutely. Wire wheeled as much as i could, POR and then i brushed on a black bbq grill paint that you can get from basically any hardware store. Ive had very good luck over the years using that method.

It looks good BlueLiner! I know where an 88 Dakota is that you can come clean! HAHA! I need to take out the bench seat today and pressure wash it.
