Default Check Engine Light

Well, I just replaced my PCM last month and 2 days ago my wife is driving the D and tells me the light is on. I go check it and it comes back as P0601 which is a PCm error. Anyone know if this may just be a quirk from the replacement or if its common to come on after replacing the PCM? So far the car is running fine and everything works besides the A/C which is another issue. Just curious if anyone else had this happen. I'm going to try and clear the code when the wife gets home and see if it re-appears, but any comments would be appreciated.

Take it back and get a good PCM. Obviously that one you got is a piece of junk.

Guys, I have the same (engine light)problem with my 2002 Durango. It has been to the dealer some 4 times or so since it hit 30K miles. First time they said that it was my aftermarket locking gas cap. Second time they replaced the Evap Harness assembly. According to the mechanic at the dealer he said that they oxygenated fuel that we have here in Texas contributes to the deteroriation of the rubber parts of this assembly. Third time up the same mechanic said that they had to purge and recharge the system and reset the PCM. This last time I dont know yet. My wife took it to the dealer this morning, third return in a week because the check engine light kept coming on and she said that they replaced two different things, I have yet to see the receipt. In case you are wondering the truck now has 56K.

Nothing is simpler than my 69 Coronet. No problems, its just an engine without all that fricking emissions mumbo jumbo!

Mopar, Take that truck back to them and make them replace the PCM, that is just ridiculous. They are probably trying to stall until the D is out ofwarranty where they will then say "Oh lets try replacing the PCM".

Well, the ol lady just showed up with the receipt and it says "Replace Vav hose and Evap Purge Solenoid". No charge 54.25 parts and 48.00 labor (in house service). I hope that fixes the problem. If not the mechanic will be hearing from me in regards to the PCM. Thanks!
