Default Overheating Help!!

[:@]I have a 2001 4.9 Durango that has overheated with no coolent leaking. Temp gage went all the way to Hot and I pulled over and had it towed home. What DIY test can I do to find this reason for this[:@] overheating issue. Fan, Thermastat, Raditator ???[:@]

Let me look in my manual real quick I don't have the 4.7 but you should just follow the upper radiator hose and you will find it.
