Thinking I need a battery, well I know I need a battery, been slow starting lately, and had to jump a few tmes, throwing one in at work tomorrow, but wondering if the bad battery woul make it stall in reverse, when backing up but not just idling with foot on brake in reverse..any advice?

 

In a one word answer... YES.

Low battery voltage and low RPMs (as in reverse) do not go well together on the Durango. Regardless of what others may chime in and say, this is the truth.

i agree any low RPM in-gear(any gear) stalling of these things is the battery, my last one died sitting at a traffic light on state highway 23 when i went to hit the gas to go not many happy people behind me, but in short

REPLACE THE BATTERY it will fix it

 

Been there and done that one.

Get the battery load tested and also check the alternator. If you can get it started run it down to Auto Zone and they can do it all for ya for free.

But YES, this can and will happen.

Doesn't matter..... This is a classic.

Low level acceleration as well as moving sensors... I would place my bet.

 

tested battery when i got to work this morning using my midtronics, 750cca battery tested 11.1 volt 323 cca, so i replace it hopefully this fixed it....i was 99% sure this was the problem, but wanted to ask you guys who have the D knowledge...

 

12.2 volts and less are toast. 100% should be 12.7 volts DC.
