Question Relocating the IAC selonoid

I have searched the forums and have found info on relocating the IAC selonoid but don't undestand why. What is the purpose of relocating it. Will hp, torque, or mpg increase?

The theory is that a relo allows the sensor to tell the PCM that the air is cooler than it really is. This in turn has the PCM add more fuel as in a cold-running choke-like situation. More fuel to burn can increase HP and lower MPG.

The jury is out that a relo actually adds any performance value long term.

wouldnt the computer figure out what was going on with the oxygen sensors picking up too much fuel after the engine warmed up?

Ok that sounds good does anyone else have any thoughts on this reloction?
If it the tells the PCM to add more fuel when it senses cooler air, then would it tell the PCM to send less fuel than it would in its stock location if I placed it closer to the exaust manifold? I'm trying to find a good way to get the PCM to sense a less need for fuel for the HHO setup.

I think hotter would be better for HHO but that should be regulated anyway so I don't see your point????

IMO, this procedure is pure snakeoil. the IAC attaches to the throttle body. if putting it elsewhere was better, Chrysler would have done that.

Although I realize that small gains can be had by making changes sometimes, most of the time you will cause another issue elsewhere which will negate your original efforts.

How would one relocate the Idle Air Control solenoid anyway?
Unless we are talking about something else called IAC?

Pull it out of the TB. Plug the hole with a plumbing fixture. Relo the IAC closer to the air filter. In a CAI setup, often there is a built in place for it.

Some say the PCM will learn the swap and counter for it anyways. Our PCMs are very smart. Who knows if it is a real, long term performance gain swap or not.
