check engine light??? P0455
that code could be caused by something as little as a pin hole in your filler tube. Since its a first generation, its fill tube is probably rusted enough to not let it hold pressure. The evap system holds a 1 PSI pressure.
If you are referring to the hoses by the vapor canister on the drivers side frame inboard approx between the drivers and left rear passengers seat, this is the hose repair.
I got about 6 inches of 3/8 hose and 6" of 7/16th hose (rated for fuel as Dan said) and a universal coupler. Also some small no more than about 3/4 inch hose clamps. X4
Attach the rotted hose to the canister, clamp, then to the coupler and clamp. Repeat step for the other side of the affected hose. I installed mine in 07 and have been good to go so far, but now that the weather is warming up and it has been three years this might serve as a good reminder to check again when I get back from my trip this weekend. When I replaced mine Auto Zone had excess hose, so didnt charge me for them, only thing I got charged for was the couplers and clamps, about $6.00 total.
Took about 10 minutes to remove and replace.
FYI Autozone at least will not clear codes anymore, they may allow you to "borrow" the scanner and turn a blind eye, but their corporate is cracking down on clearing the codes, they will read, print and recommend repairs but not clear. You either have to get another scanner or use the battery reset procedure.
