Default 99 durango cuts off

My 99 dodge durango cuts off when I put it into reverse. Got any ideas?

Could be the trany locking up.

Try to have the trans serviced which means a fluid and filter and a band adjustment.

Make sure the shop only uses ATF+lll, or ATF+4 which is Fully Synthitic.

Is the engine stalling when you put the trans in reverse? If it is, like hydrashocker had said trans locking maybe torque converter, could also have other problem too. reverse band to tight, ck ball on separator plate ( valve body) or even the PCM. try removing the eatx relay and put the trans in reverse, if it doesn't stall then the problem is in the PCM or wire.
