Default Blind release of connections?

With only the kick plate removed and the 3 screws, I can't see how to get into the connector area as it is hidden from view!!!! WTH! IDK, read this thread many times and it looks like I just have to man-up and hope nothing breaks

I'll be back here soon hoping to see some sort of input, OR it'll be off to the service garage tomorrow....

~pictures will not be shown of the bloody knuckles~

Found one extra screw, the horizontal brace that holds the hood release stable. Removing it allowed just enough wiggle room to get that dang box out!!! removed battery neg, replaced module, battery neg connected again, and woo hooo, turn on engine and back to life the switch came. Rotated through the selections and could more easily hear it switch into 4L.

Yeah baby... $55 part, $10 shipping, and blood to clean before the CSI team sees it.

WHOA, thank y'all for the descriptions and illustrations, and also to my wife for giving me that last kiss the final bit of encouragement! "Just do it, baby, you can do anything."

Default Closing questions

1. the black connector with nothing connected... is that for an electronic brake for a trailer? It points down to the floorboard and had a cap on it.

2. How many put that 3rd screw back in? you know that one I'm talking about!!!!!

Kind of feeling I'm less of a repair after each fix.

Thanks again!

Another Iowa member. Good you got it fixed, prolly need it soon.

Danny Delaney, I'm not sure what your problem could be, but I'd suggest looking into the Central Timer Module. It seems to cause a lot of issues. Might be a little late, maybe he has it fixed already.

Hello all.
Like Spencerdurango, I ordered the Time Control Module and suggested by my mechanic, who did a complete computer check on my car. Found out some corrosion after a water leak from under the dash. Will replace next month. I will let you know of the outcome.

Default TCM replaced

Just replaced the TCM and no change. Only thing left to check is wire bad or loose connection. This 4X4 problems is beginning to **** me off. No service codes but only indication is that the dignostic computer can not connect to the transfer case module or the case itself. I will work on the wire problems this weekend and the it is off to the stealership. $$$$.
Thanks for all your help.
