Unhappy Oil pressure issue

Ok fixed the ABS/brake light thanks to you guys. Now i was looking at changing the plugs and stuff. i just got the rig a few ago and noticed that the engine temp never really got hot. so i change the thermostat. th eold one was in pieces. Now i have a lifter tick and a check gauges light. Oil pressure reads 0...what the hell. the more i fix the more they come....what would be a good fix for this new issue. would the cold engine temp for who knows how long cause this. the temp before the fix was about 130 degrees. or should i just change the oil with a thicker one? I am getting tired of fixing stuff

you guys saved me before, i hope you can do it again

Thumbs down Oil pump?

Does anyone know how about how long it takes to change out a oil pump on a 99 5.9 4x4 durango? Looks like mine took a dump lifter noise and no oil pressure? i am thinking of farming it out to the shop. Way to much crap in the way for me to do it in the drive way. Damn durango.....fix one thing and well you know...

Well you pretty much have to remove the engine.. if you have no oil pressure it is time for a rebuild or buy used. Simply replacing the oil pump may end up being a waste of money if there is other damage.

Default oil pressure...

1999 Durango SLT
5.9 liter 4x4
136K
ok well then the thermostat was broke and i took a laser temp of the head and it was no joke 132 degrees. the radiator was 126 degrees. i removed it it was in 4 pieces and now reads about 195. the oil pressure gauge is reading 0, the check gauges light is on my lifters are ticking like crazy and that pretty much leads me to think that the oil pump is out or the pick up is broke/blocked.

Exclamation Remove the engine?

First i would like to say thanks for all the help you guys have been giving me. You have made the gremlins on the Durango slowly go away.
Now is there any other way to drop the oil pan on a 99 5.9 4x4 Durango without removing the engine? How many hours will a shop charge me to do this?

Just drop the pan and sometimes you need to loosen up the crossmember.

Front diff needs to come out or lift the motor.

Also the problem could be a cavitated filter so give it an oil change and replace the filter first.
