because of atlanta traffic/construction and the fact that I had to drive 300+ miles each way to get it. it was hard to keep the durango from swerving because the one I towed with has a little play in the steering and is the same weight and the lanes were narrow. I was also very tired. it was a rough ride.
btw it looks like the knocking is from a loose connecting rod possibly... it is burning oil too which is weird (i hope it didn't punch through a piston or bent a valve or something, but I'm guessing it probably did), but I've removed spark and fuel from each cylinder and it's still knocking. I also have my fears because the #8 plug had oil on it and it had a bent tip. I'm going to have to pull it and see if it bent the new plug too. the durango has 135000 miles on it and never had the spark plugs changed from what I can tell so I replaced them all. they looked like they were twice the gap as normal. I will post pictures if you want. my oil fill port was also slimed up like in the pictures and I can post some pictures of that too.
