so my mom has a 98 durango slt as well and she ended up taking it to the dealership. The dealer said there was something wrong with the lifters not sure excatly what sense my mom is not very mechanically inclined... but she told me they put some gunk stuff in it to stop the lifters from going. Has anybody ever heard of something like this ? Sorry if its a stupid question but i have never heard of something like this. By the way it has 140k miles on it and serviced reguluarly

the car runs really good and strong at the moment it just needs a new strarter. I have heard no ticking from the lifters at all. So im just guessing its bs ?
98, yeah, your mom was bs'ed. I use engine restore after every oil change and have had no unusual noises from the engine since.
I never aggree with ANY type of additive like Engine Restore. Those companies can put ANYTHING in there product because they aren't regulated by the fed's.
Not to mention if you read your manual it clearly states not to use any of them.
