I was just talking about this today! Thanks for the bearing number and thinking about the coated bearing instead?

Just looking at it a vice coud do it. Talk about EZ!.....But then again I've done so many bearings just like it including gear boxes and shim work. I really needed the name and part number. I should be able to find it tho.

Checked the link and nodda. Looked into rockauto.com and it only lists the rear???????

but, buy it from Rockauto. $55.79

1. Remove snap ring.
2. Press out old bearing.
3. Lube bearing OD and hub ID. Press in new bearing. Make sure you press only on the outer edge of the bearing.
4. Replace snap ring.

BTW, I have one in my hand thanks to my dad, so I know it fits.
You learn something everyday. For 9 years, I have never heard of anyone replacing their hub bearings... instead we toss out the whole hub.

I wonder if the ABS sensor that comes on the 4 wheel ABS hubs can last and last if we switch to bearing replacement instead of hub replacement.

I wish I had kept either of the 2 old hubs I replaced just to try it myself.

TY!!!

It totally makes sense and I would have ripped into mine before I would have just bought a new one but I always though you could. The funny thing is I was just talking to my wife the morning before this thread about this exact thing?

Smile HI Everyone

Just had Wheel bearing replaced in September of 08 .

Same Driver side Wheel Starting to have same problem .

I Do drive down a rather rough road almost daily and do take it easy but should have it lasted longer?

Should i bother to take it back to my mechanic and see what he can do ?

Or just Buy a New hub And Do the Job Myself ?

i am on a Very limiting budget .

Also what is the Main Nut Torqued to ?

Any advice will be appreiciated

1. Could have torqued it too tight or just a bad bearing.
2. I would bring it up to him at least.
3. First talk to the mechanic and go from there.
4. You could just pull it and replace just the bearing but you need to press it.

Hub bearing bolts are 65lbs.

Half shaft nut is 180lbs.

I'm a new member just checking to see if there are any other successes with the SET815 bearing replacement instead of the whole hub. Thanks!
