P&P the heads. Other than that sounds good. I doubt your heads are good though!

LOL engine is easy to pull compared to "just" dropping a transmission out of a Durango 4X4.... I would be happy to pull an engine over the tranny drop anyday..

Job completed, install was a lot better...

5.9 is sitting on the stand waiting for me to order a rotating assembly and the machine shop...

5.2 installed in the mean time, FYI no ECM flashing or reprograming required. Truck runs very good with no trouble codes. Plugs look great after 100 miles of drive time.

Ya, i have not personaly done the 5.9 to the 5.2 swap but have read much about it and knew the PCM was not an issue for others.. If it was then a flash could be done at the dealer for $60 but nobody I read that had done it had to. Far as the connections and such they are the exact same for the 5.9 and the 5.2... No special wiring needed.

Glad its working out for you. keep us updated.
