Any suggestions if it WON'T come off? I've tried tapping it with a hammer, grabbing onto it with a pair of vice grips and pulling up as hard as i could and could NOT get it off. Ended up giving up and putting it back together with the old rotor.

Like Indy said, it pulls straight up and off.

Sometimes they can stick on from heat and being old or something. One time I had to put a pair of Chanel locks on the shaft just under the rotor, after adjusting it so they would just slip up the shaft without clamping on it, I placed a piece of wood on the intake and pry'ed it up off the shaft. I think I removed the Throttle Body to get a better approach to it.
