Get Mopar Performance wires from the dealer. Replace the cap and rotor with ones that have Brass Contacts. Echlin from NAPA does a good job or Mopar Performance. The dealer should have all the Mopar Performance parts on the shelf.

Dealer O2 sensros are the best. I got 170k+ on mine!

Might sound too easy but check the O2 fuse under the hood, if its blown the heater circuit for the sensors will not work and will throw multiple codes. That fuse powers the heater circuit for the O2 sensors. Happened to me and all I did was replace the fuse and all was well.

UPDATE:
Well, I followed the advice I received here: Even though it got a tune-up in August, last Saturday I went ahead & had the irridium spark plugs & aftermarket wires replaced with Champion copper plugs & OE wires. We also replaced the aftermarket O2 sensor with a Dodge sensor. Expensive . But worth it?

Today is Wednesday & the CEL has not yet reappeared. I'm cautiously pleased. It has come back so often in the past that I don't want to celebrate too soon. But this is the longest "lights out" so far. I might be able to pass inspection in time after all. Tranny is still acting up, but hey ... one thing at a time.
Thanks for the advice guys.

Glad to see you are looking semi good!

Could be backlash setting on the differential. This is my problem! Going to be doing it this weekend.

As usual, I jinx myself by opening my big mouth too soon. Who'da thunk it? Light came on this morning, reading P0135, indicating the upstream 02 sensor. I'd made a mistake before ... that replacement sensor came from NAPA, not the dealership. Anyway, it's been ordered now from Dodge and will be put in tomorrow. At this point I just don't know. But the ball is still rolling along ...

This is getting really old.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

NO MORE CODES!!!

Okay, I'm done acting like a giddy schoolgirl. But after replacing 2 aftermarket 02 sensors with OE sensors, I have put over 700 miles on the Durango and the CEL light has not reappeared.

Thank ... you ... Lord!!! Now I can go get the tranny taken care of. FYI I drove with a CEL for a very long time.

See post #18 from 6 weeks ago in this thread.

Glad to see it worked.

And this suggestion first sent me on my way to changing the sensor ... but I detoured along the way of the plugs/wires - like the sometime cheap *** that I tend to be.

In the end this whole thing cost far more than it needed to. And I still have the tranny issues to take care of. Lesson learned. Thank you all.
